The short version
An eyebrow transplant aims to restore sparse, thin or over-plucked eyebrows by moving individual follicles from the scalp to the brow. DHI is usually preferred for eyebrows because it gives close control over angle, direction and density.
People consider it after over-plucking, for genetic reasons, after scarring, with age, or after some medical conditions; the clinic's doctor first checks that the cause is stable.
The procedure
- Design: the doctor designs the brow shape around your face and bone structure. You approve the design before any work begins.
- Extraction: grafts are taken from the back of the scalp, typically 200–400 grafts per eyebrow, a small number for the donor area.
- Implantation: with the Choi DHI pen, follicles are placed one by one at the angle and direction of natural brow hair.
- Recovery: scabs typically fall off in 5–7 days. Transplanted hairs may shed at 2–4 weeks, which is expected. New growth usually starts in months 3–4; the final result takes 12–18 months.

- Transplanted brow hair comes from the scalp and may grow faster than natural brow hair, so it needs regular trimming
- The procedure typically takes 2–3 hours under local anesthesia
