What is DHI?

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) uses the Choi implanter pen to open the channel and place the follicle in one motion. There is no separate channel-opening step as in classic FUE, which means less handling of each graft and close control of the angle.

People often choose DHI when they want density in the front hairline, or when they can't show a shaved head at work.

How DHI differs from FUE

The extraction is the same: individual follicles are removed with a micro-punch. The difference is in the implantation:

• FUE: the channels are opened first, then the grafts are placed into them.
• DHI: each follicle is loaded into the Choi pen, which opens the channel and places the follicle in one step.

Because each graft goes straight from the pen into the scalp, the angle, depth and direction of every follicle can be closely controlled.
