Packing checklist
Packing for a hair transplant trip is a little different from a regular vacation: you balance recovery with travel comfort. This list covers what to bring, and what the clinic already provides.
Clothing
Typical guidance — the clinic's written instructions come first.
- Button-up shirts (3–4): nothing pulled over the head for the first days; zip hoodies and cardigans work too.
- A loose hat: avoid tight caps. A loose bucket hat or wide-brim hat keeps the sun off without pressing on the grafts.
- A comfortable travel outfit: sweatpants and slip-on shoes for the flight home.
- A travel pillow: you'll sleep with your head raised for the first nights.
Documents
- A valid passport (no visa needed for US citizens, up to 90 days)
- Your written quote and schedule from me
- Travel insurance documents
- A card and some Turkish lira for everyday spending
- A list of your prescription medications
Electronics
- Phone and charger (WhatsApp is how I stay in touch with you)
- A power adapter (Turkey uses type C/F European plugs)
- Headphones for the 6–8 hour procedure
- A tablet or e-reader for the rest days
Medications and health
- Your current prescription medications, in their original bottles
- Any allergy medications you use regularly
- Sunscreen for later (not on the grafts until the clinic clears it)
What the clinic provides
- Your post-op medications, as prescribed
- The aftercare kit (contents confirmed by the clinic)
- Bandages for the donor area
Don't buy medications or aftercare products in advance; the clinic provides what you need.
